I started in the late 90s making games. I worked on a game called Black Ice White Noise for the Atari Jaguar. Since then I’ve worked on paper games with folks like Mike Pondsmith, the original author of Cyberpunk Mekton and Others. I’ve worked on Games for Bungie, Microsoft, Midway, Universal, Sony, EA, and many others – mostly as an artist.
After working as an artist for nearly 20 years, I started writing scripts to automate many of the repetitive tasks for modeling in 3D apps like Max or Maya. I ended up getting involved with developing pipeline tools and eventually just got into game logic and programming with Unreal Engine.
After that I worked for a few years in UDK with UnrealScript, something akin to javascript. Eventually I ended up using more Unity than Unreal, and here I am now.
I have seen the publishing of many apps games and projects. I’ve also seen many more projects canceled, dropped and given up on by publishers, and clients. So I’ve learned a lot.
As a part of the experience I’d like to help put together some help and publish some of those experiences here in the coming weeks.
Expect more soon.
